Cabin Fans

Excellence in craftsmanship
& design
| Hello John, I just thought you might like to see one of your beech fans mounted in the good ship "Flagon." Thanks once again they are exactly what was required. B. R. |
| We have installed the fan and it works beautiful. However, now we have come to the
conclusion that we need a second fan for the other side of the cabin. Can you please send
us a second fan just like the first one.... H. K. |
| Our Cabin Fan proved itself during the Galiano Island fire of 2007. We cruised during a very hot summer week and the fan cooled us at night. Then the Galiano fire started and we moored in Montague Harbour to watch. For a day and half we were amazed to see the humongous Mars water bombers circle, load, then drop water on the fire -- Meanwhile, our fan steadily dissipated the sultry heat. Thank you Chimeron Creations! |
| I just wanted to tell you how pleased I am with the cabin fans I got from you. When I first saw one I thought it would be ideal above my diesel heater in my Pacific Seacraft to circulate the warm air around. It has exceeded my expectations. As well as the obvious
craftsfanship with its very attractive teak frame, it is one of the most attractive and
functional pieces of equipment I've installed below decks. It has increased my comfort
level significantly. This is very important as I live aboard in the Pacific Northwest
year round. J. B. |
| Thought you might like to see your fan in place. Serving their purpose well in Antigua. Regards, E. K. S/Y Aisling |
| I purchased one of your fans and mounted it in the focsle area where it has improved circulation dramatically. Before this installation, it was often hard to get heat to this particular area. The fans are keeping things warm and dry, which of coarse is death to
mildew. The fan in the focsle area will I'm sure be very useful in the summer, helping to
keep the v-berth cool. I especially like the variable speed control switches as most of
the time the fans need only to be run at a low speed. This reduces electrical draw from
their already low demand on the batteries. Please feel free to use this letter as a
testimonial. Keep up the good work! A. C. |
| We are big believers in fans to keep the air moving around in the boat. We have lived aboard for 14 years and find fans are a must in both summer and winter, summer to keep things cool and winter to stop mold and mildew during our wet Pacific Northwest winters.
We have tried most brands and used to have several of the Hella units, they work well but are unfortunately expensive (typical boat stuff if you want it to work!) About 5 years ago we found a local product that works great, their website is Chimeron Creations, 12 & 24 Volt Marine Fans if you want to check them out, they will do mail order to anywhere. We have 7 of their small fans inside the boat and 2 large ones out in the cockpit. The fans in the boat run 24/7, they are very quiet, draw very little electricity, and can be adjusted to any speed by the rheostat. IMHO they are a lot better looking than the Hella units and they cost about half as much. They last about 3 to 4 years running 24/7 before they wear out which is about the same or better than our experience with Hellas. However the great thing is that the fan unit is easily replaceable in about 10 minutes with a readily available 12 volt computer fan that you can get most anywhere at a cost of less than $20! The unit is made so that a piece of the frame comes off the back with 2 screws and the fan just slides out of the wood enclosure. Slide in the new fan, connect 2 wires and you're done. Great product IMHO. Wayne |
